Abstract
Plagiarism is nowadays all-pervasive. Spectrum 2.0 defines twelve types of plagiarism. Some of them can be detected and removed using software tools. Many such tools are commonplace on internet. One can identify a broad spectrum of features that make them popular. This paper describes some important types of plagiarism. It also focuses on some important features of Plagiarism detection and removal tools that make them popular. This paper also dwells briefly on the need for semantics based plagiarism checks for research papers.
